He is given a key to the Baldpate Inn, and is told that it is the only one (as it turns out, there are seven different people who claim ownership of the only key). At the Inn, he foils a plot to pay off a group of criminals, and just before midnight, learns that ..... you'll just have to come find out!! We wouldn't want to give it away.
