Friday, April 16, 2010
Time: 7:00 PM

Pride & Prejudice, Jane Austen's classic novel of manners and marriage, comes to life in Magenta Theater's new adaptation, directed by Dorinda Toner. Elizabeth Bennet is a witty young woman content to enjoy country life with her family and their attentive neighbors in Hertfordshire, England. Things change, though, with the arrival of Mr. Bingley and his aloof friend, Mr.Darcy. A series of misunderstandings and subtle flirtations characterize this beloved story. Pride is wounded and prejudices are dissolved, as Elizabeth (and the audience) learns that first impressions aren't always right, marriage isn't always about love and sometimes family is more important than it seems.

Event Title: Spring Bluegrass Fest
Where: AWPPW Union Hall - 514 Dallas Street - Camas, WA
Saturday, April 24, 2010
Time: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM PST
The Spring Bluegrass Fest is proud to announce the 6 bands scheduled to perform at this year's Spring Bluegrass Fest April 24th from noon till 10:00. This second year event will once again be held at the Camas AWPPW Union Hall at 514 Dallas Street. It is only 10 minutes from I-205.
This year's bands are Misty Mamas, Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising,
Fiddlegrass, Whiskey Puppy, The John Hix Dance Band, and Everybody & His Brother.
The Misty Mamas are known for their powerful harmonies and timeless melodies. They have awards from Columbia River Bluegrass Festival Band Contest and The Wheeler County Bluegrass Songwriting Contest.
Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising band has 3 CD's receiving international airplay and their just released gospel CD. Guitar player Dennis Nelson is the current Roots Bluegrass Association Bluegrass Songwriter of the Year.
Fiddlegrass has a fiddler that has state and regional awards serves as a national judge at Weiser Idaho.
Whiskey Puppy brought our crowd to their feet last year. Band member, Rachel Gold hosts a bluegrass show on KBOO.
The John Hix Dance Band features a choir director who plays violin at church and the fiddle for bluegrass. We even have a newly formed band, Everybody and His Brother, which has members from last year's popular 2 Licks 2 Many.
In addition to these 6 bands we will encourage jamming. Last year's jam sessions were described as a unique way to blend jammers and bands into a great event. Spring Bluegrass Fest will begin with an hour session of jamming and then feature 30 to 45 minute jamming sessions in between each band's performance.
Last year many of the scheduled band members warmed up with the jammers. It's a great opportunity to jam, hear great music, and play with some outstanding talent.
We have cut the admission price in half from last year and offer a special family price. It is $10.00 for standard admission and $25.00 for family. Where else can you find this much fun and entertainment for $10.00. We are in the process of adding kids events to this family orientated event including a Piñata.
Tickets are available on line now at www.springbluegrassfest.com
Great Food will be provided at the event. We will feature outstanding barbeque. Our barbeque chef is a barbeque champion. His family competes regularly on the barbeque circuit and has been featured on several national shows. We have expanded this year's menu rto include a meal platter, Chili, and chili dogs. Last year's favorites pulled pork sandwiches and beer dogs, will be there with beverages (including beer) and deserts.
The Spring Bluegrass Festival is a fund raiser for the Human Dignity Foundation. The Human Dignity Foundation is here to put its convictions into action by providing resources to a wide range of life affirming organizations and building a very different kind of loving residential facility for the elderly, disabled and terminally ill. You can learn more about Human Dignity by clicking on the link on the Spring Bluegrass web site.
For further information you can go to our website www.springbluegrassfest.com. or contact Darl Stuvick at 503-254-2666 during weekdays or 360-253-3891.
