The gang's all here for an action-packed summer
extravaganza as Troy, Gabriella and the rest of the
Wildcats finish junior year and blast onto the summer
scene. At the Lava Springs Country Club, Sharpay
reigns supreme while the Wildcats get to work - literally!
Keeping every ounce of the light-hearted fun that makes
High School Musical a household name, this buoyant
sequel takes on the questions of real kids facing the
realities of the adult world. Friendships are tested and
the meaning of success is redefined. Growing with the
characters, HSM2 doesn't miss one fabulous beat as the
kids from East High get a taste of what it means to grow
up. Rockin' songs, action-packed dance numbers, and
ample opportunities to highlight a strong ensemble make
this an ideal show for young actors. Jump into pool with
the Wildcats as you swim along with this crowd-pleasing,
fun-filled charmer.

Guest Conductor Richard Rintoul to lead orchestra
(Vancouver, WA) The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra proudly announces the program for its second concert of the 2009-2010 season on Saturday, November 14 at 3 p.m. and Sunday, November 15 at 7 p.m. Concert highlights include the beloved Symphony no. 3 in E-flat major ( Eroica) by Beethoven, the Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Grieg and Giuseppe Verdi's Overture to Nabucco. Richard Rintoul is guest conductor.
The Eroica Symphony, originally dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte, is considered a monumental work of power and grace. Another of classical music's most beloved compositions, the Peer Gynt Suite, combines the work of two of Norway's creative giants. It is Grieg's musical interpretation of Henrik Ibsen's verse play Peer Gynt. Verdi's opera Nabucco is based on a biblical story about the Babylonian king known in English as Nebuchadnezzar.
Dr. Richard Rintoul is one of the most active and best-known composers in Southern California. He is currently conductor of the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic and conductor and music director of the Symphony Orchestra at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is a 70-member professional orchestra performing October through May in a six-concert season. All performances are at Skyview Concert Hall, 1300 NW 139 th St., Vancouver. Tickets for performances are available at http://www.vancouversymphony.org or (360) 735-7278, at local outlets and at the door. Students get a special $9 admission price for any concert.
