The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra continues its 30 Year Celebration season Saturday, November 15 at 3 pm and Sunday, November 16 at 7 pm with a spectacular program complemented by the majestic voice of Janine Hawley.
Guest conductor Christopher Zimmerman will lead

An American mezzo-soprano, Ms. Hawley has achieved accolades for her critically-acclaimed performances of roles ranging from Carmen to Cherubino in opera houses throughout the United States. She has worked with the Washington Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, New Orleans Opera, New York City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Utah Opera, Opera Festival of New Jersey and Boston Lyric Opera, among others. Ms. Hawley is a faculty member at both the North Carolina School of the Arts and Greensboro College.
Christopher Zimmerman is music director of the Symphony of Southeast Texas. Previously, he was music director of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and of the Hartt Symphony. He received his BA from Yale and his MA from the University of Michigan.
The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is a 70-member professional orchestra presenting outstanding guest artists and varied programs September through May in a seven-concert season. The VSO performs in-school concerts for more than one thousand students, and sponsors.
Preceding Saturday's concert, enjoy a "Musical Conversation." This lively and informative talk about the music and composers begins at 2 pm on Saturday and 6 pm on Sunday.
