 Vancouver, WA - Enjoyment of music from around the world rises above differences in culture, language, and age. Spend a fall afternoon travelling the world as the Southwest Washington Wind Symphony opens its fifth season presenting "Music: Language of the World" on Sunday, November 15, at 3:00 pm at the Union High School auditorium. Musical selections include "Suite from Mass" by Leonard Bernstein featuring the Columbia River Brass Quintet; "Cantique de Jean Racine" by Gabriel Fauré featuring harpist, Kate Petak; Alfred Reed's "Russian Christmas Music;" and the Irish "Rakes of Mallow" by Leroy Anderson. =0D=0A=

 The SW Washington Wind Symphony is a 55-member, professional quality concert band; 70% are music educators from the Clark county area and others are talented musicians from a variety of professions. “Our mission is to encourage a better understanding and appreciation of wind band music and support the performing arts in SW Washington,” said Richard Carr, co-founder and event coordinator. =0D=0A=
